Position Overview: As an Experienced Boilermaker – Fabrication Specialist at Petec Pty Ltd., you will play a pivotal role in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of boilers, pressure vessels, and other metal structures. Your expertise in fabrication techniques will ensure that our projects meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the fabrication and assembly of boilers, pressure vessels, and related metal structures according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Utilize advanced welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and cutting tools to achieve precise and accurate results.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret blueprints and ensure precise execution of project plans.

This role requires a skilled, dynamic hydraulic professional with hands-on experience in repairing, assembling, and troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Job Opening: 3x Mechanical Draughtsman
Job Title: Mechanical Draughtsman
Department: Mechanical Division

Location: Cape Town
Marine Engineering company in Cape Town is currently looking to employ 3 x Mechanical Draughtsman for short term, long term and/or permanent employment with the following attributes:
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Mechanical Engineer, you will be required to assist the drawing office by creating 3D assemblies along with their respective components and fully detailed manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
Ideally you would also be proficient with different measuring tools (Tape measure, Vernier, Inside & Outside Micrometer, etc.) to reverse engineer sample parts.
Key Performance Areas:
- Provide design/drawing support to the Engineer.
- 3D modelling and creation of working drawings according to company’s standard.
- Creation of 3D models & drawings from ‘off the sample’ parts.
- Preparation of manufacturing project files.
- Creation of hydraulic schematic drawings.
- Sourcing of components from suppliers.
- Technical assistance to the workshop staff during the production process.
Post Requirements:
- Mechanical Draughting Certificate or equivalent.
- Min one year experience within the manufacturing environment using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor will be an advantage)
- Good understanding of mechanical systems and their function.
- Able to work independently or interactively as a member of a team.
- Self-motivated with creative and innovative mind.
- Proficient with measuring tools (Tape measure, Vernier, inside & outside Micrometer, etc.)
- Good communication skills (verbal, written & interpersonal).
- Valid Code B Driver’s License.
